We set out with the creation of this guild, to make a guild that would offer a place to work hard as a team and achieve many things. In the mix of it all for a game where no one guild can rule it all, we had become lost in our vision and we sacrificed team work for numbers. The result of this was the absorption of other dead guild's members and a massive focus on recruiting despite that fact that we had a solid, friendly, and tight knit player base. If I would had been honest at the time when this was going through I would have told everyone that I was unable to bring myself to focus on this game or guild full time due to both real life circumstances and the issues that I was unable to deal with in regards to this game's mechanics.
Instead I lied to everyone and even to myself, I assumed that just "some time off" would be enough and I would be able to come back into action and pick up the mantle where I had left it. The burden of running the guild was then placed fully on the shoulders of Nighteyes and Lurch who out of his loyalty and generosity had taken it a step further and shared the load of that burden with him as well, after Nighteyes had burned out Lurch had tried to carry it with the little aid I was able to actually give to him.
Unfortunately at this point Night and I will not be returning and Lurch is unable to focus his attention into running the guild due to his own personal and real life circumstances. I believe it is in the best interest to suspend our guild's existence from the world full of war as we continue to seek out where we truly wish to be and where we will take up our final stand.
WAR was a great idea and Warhammer itself is a wonderful IP but in all honesty this game lacks MAJOR PvE elements and MAJOR static RvR elements to make it feel like a consistent and actual gaming world. The actions of the players in instanced RvR and the actions in PvE have little barring on the actual world itself, this lack of actual impact further makes the game less desirable from my point of view.
My opinion of Mythic is that they are one of the best MMO companies to date, they are certainly up there with Verant (Sigil, etc), Turbine, NCSoft and the creators of UO. This isn't a matter of opinion where I believe WAR was released too early or was an unfinished product, I actually believe that the product that was launched was definitely as polished as it was going to get prior to a release and I believe that the fundamental issues lie within the game's structure and not it's development progress and / or status.
Overall the actual product just doesn't garner the enjoyment that I am sure the Developer's aimed to create.
With this said I wish our time together in WAR could have lasted longer, we have met some great people on our journey and I am sure that each of you know who you are. I do hope that if your time in WAR does come to an end, that you may join the few of us that remain together in whatever universe we take up arms in next.
With that in mind we will continue to use this website as a central hub of our group and gaming activities and I hope you do the same as well.
Thanks for the fond memories,
Fred
